Description

This is a Plastic 1/48 Scale Chance-Vought F4U-1/2 Corsair Airplane from Tamiya.

The Corsair was primarily used as an offensive fighter and ground attack aircraft.  Initial versions had poor handling on aircraft carriers and so they served with the Marines off land-based airstrips.  Pratt & Whitney R2800 engine required the classic inverted gull wing design for acceptable propeller clearance.  Early versions were called "Birdcage Corsairs" due to the heavily framed canopy.

Markings included for 1 Navy and 2 Marine aircraft.
Approximately 100 parts in light grey and clear with fine recessed panel lines.
